Jens Nilsson is Unwonted!

We are happy to announce that Jens Nilsson has joined Unwonted as a Cloud Specialist! He will help our customers succeed in Azure, and we’re incredibly excited to have him on the team!🎉
We asked some quick questions to Jens:
Azure Containers are your thing, but if you had to explain them to a 5-year-old, how would you do it?
- Containers are like the different toolboxes I have in the garage. Each toolbox contains all the tools I need for a specific task, making tasks like changing tires fast and efficient.
You are building a Rally car with your dad! Who came up with that crazy idea?
- My dad!! He is an old Rally driver and wanted to take up Rally again after his retirement. He asked me if I wanted to tag along and I can’t think of a better way to spend some quality time with my dad!
Is there any resemblance of racing a rally car and building stuff in Azure?
- There is a lot of planning and preparation involved before a rally, just like you do when you prepare a new Azure implementation. One thing that is also very obvious for me, who is just starting out in the rally world, is that experience makes a huge difference!
Why did you join Unwonted?
- Because of the awesome Team, of course! It’s an incredibly talented group that has a lot of fun together and inspires each other to learn and continue to develop!
What’s the coolest project you’ve ever worked on using Azure?
- I would have to go back to the first ever Azure implementation I did, migrating an on-premises web app to ASM Cloud Services. Coming from a traditional server infrastructure, I remember how cool it was to request more capacity on demand. It really spurred my fascination and love for the Azure platform.
Disc Golf or Boomer Golf?
- Disk golf, without a doubt! I am working on getting my wife and kids into it as well. Somewhat successful at the moment.
What’s a feature in Azure you can work with over and over again without getting tired of it?
- It might not be a specific feature, but the fact that Azure is constantly evolving makes me never get tired of the platform. There are always new things to learn, and that’s something I really enjoy.
What’s the most unusual job you’ve ever had?
- Working at a manufacturing plant running injection molding machines, creating CDs and DVDs. Cleanroom environment, blistering hot plastic, 40-ton hydraulic rams! What’s not to like?
What are you most looking forward to in 2025?
- Hanging out with the family, spending time in the Rally car and working on cool Azure projects with the Unwonted Team!!
