We are thrilled to welcome Emil Gullbrandsson to Unwonted! Emil will join as a Cloud Specialist. With his expertise, Emil is set to play a crucial role in developing innovative cloud solutions that meet our customers’ unique needs.
Emil is active in the community where he has worked on various PowerShell modules related to Azure management, such as managing Passwordstate and creating Azure Virtual WAN lab environments.

What’s a skill or talent you have that most people wouldn’t expect?
- I have a knack for solving Rubik’s Cubes in under two minutes. It’s a hobby I picked up a while back, and people are often surprised by how quickly I can solve them. I’m also flexible like you wouldn’t believe.
What’s a feature in Azure you can work with over and over again without getting tired of it?
- I never get tired of working with Azure Functions. The ability to build serverless applications quickly and efficiently always keeps me committed and excited.
Disc Golf or Boomer golf?
- Disc Golf, grip it and rip it! It’s a fun and laid-back sport that combines elements of traditional golf with the simplicity of throwing discs.
What is the most fun in Azure right now?
- Building Pipelines in Azure DevOps is the latest thing that made me work the entire weekend with a smile on my face, automating image building.
If you could invent something, what would it be and why?
- There’s so much things I want to learn, so either a way to learn faster or slow down time.
What’s the most unusual job you’ve ever had?
- I worked as a green-keeper. Needless to say, it was a short-lived career.
Why did you join Unwonted?
- I joined Unwonted because of the people. We worked together at my previous employer, and I can tell you, these are some of the smartest and most inspiring people I’ve come across during my career. I’m proud to call them friends.

- Unwonted, without doubt! It signifies something unique and out of the ordinary, which perfectly aligns with my own values and aspirations.
What’s the most daring adventure you’ve embarked on?
- Visiting Zion National Park and Climbing Angels Landing together with my sister back in 2019. An extremely cool hike/climb that I would recommend everyone to do if possible.
What are you most looking forward to in 2024?
- Letting ChatGPT answer questions like the ones above so I can continue to contribute to my customers cloud journey and make sure that they get the help and support they actually need, I thrive on helping others and making their lives easier in the cloud, it doesn’t matter if it’s networking, virtual machines, automation, functions, or even cost savings
